The Volunteer Center - Board Match Application Form

The nonprofit application period has closed but we have a few spaces still available. Complete this form and a representative from The Volunteer Center will contact you.

The Board Match, sponsored by the Pacific Gas and Electric Company, is an opportunity for your executive director, board president and others to talk with hundreds of prospective board members in one place. More than 700 candidates attended The Board Match 2009--and we're on target for another record-breaking event this year on Tuesday, January 12, 2010, from 4:30 - 7:30pm!

Before completing and submitting this application for The Board Match you must first update or submit a Board Profile on The Volunteer Center's website. If you have not already done so, log-into or create your account and update or submit Board Profile information. Return to this application when you are done.

This application process is designed to make sure that a diverse range of participating agencies will have a successful experience matching with a pool of candidates with diverse interests and experience. We will be including nonprofits on a rolling basis and wait-listing organizations that we need more information from or that fall into an overpopulated category of service, size, county etc.

We will be announcing both accepted and wait-listed organizations on a weekly rolling basis through December 4, 2009.

Acceptance emails will be sent with an invoice attached. At this stage we must receive payment within 24 business hours of your acceptance notification to participate in The Board Match.

Refunds are not provided.

Please hold the dates below on your calendar for the Board Recruitment and Retention workshop provided in conjunction with your participation in The Board Match. Each session is booked on a first-come, first-served basis. While we we cannot guarantee your preference will be available, we will do our best to accommodate everyone.

There are no further training dates. You will be contacted by The Volunteer Center regarding your application and with information about attending a logistics webinar if we are able to include your organization in The Board Match.

Fees* for The Board Match are assessed on a sliding scale based on your 501(c)3’s 
operational budget:

$150: Level 1, budget under $400k
$175: Level 2, budget $400k - $999k
$225: Level 3, budget $1 mil - $3 mil
$300: Level 4, budget over $3 mil

*20% discount provided to Nonprofit Volunteer Leaders Council (NVLC) members

We will begin notifying wait-listed organizations of an available slot by Tuesday November 17, 2009.
