what people are saying. Congratulations on a great event last night. [It] was like a reunion of friends and nonprofit family. It was great to learn about all the opportunities and experience the successes of local nonprofits.

Volunteers

“I have been volunteering with the Homeless Cat Network since 2000. I have been blessed with many miracles, heart-warming and funny incidents in this time. It is so rewarding,” said Dianne Ingalls.

The reasons are varied and many. From keeping busy to meeting people or just having fun, but ultimately, most volunteers like Dianne just want to give back to the community. And when they do, it’s an exchange. They get back so much more than they give.

Need another reason to volunteer? A study by Independent Sector, a national nonprofit advocacy organization, showed that one-year’s worth of volunteer work in the United States provided the equivalent of more than 9 million full-time employees. That’s an economic value of $239 billion!

Now just imagine what we’d do without the Diannes of this world…
