what people are saying. Congratulations on a great event last night. [It] was like a reunion of friends and nonprofit family. It was great to learn about all the opportunities and experience the successes of local nonprofits.

What We Do

Connecting Resources. People. Organizations.

Mention “volunteering” and one immediately conjures up images of an individual helping out in the community. And while that is true, The Volunteer Center demonstrates how volunteering also encompasses more than just the individual giving back.

By working and building a strong network of volunteers, nonprofits and businesses, The Volunteer Center helps improve the local community.

From mentoring to serving food in a shelter, wherever your interests lie, there are volunteer jobs to match. Partnering with hundreds of nonprofit organizations, more than 1,000 opportunities are accessible to volunteers of all ages looking for on-going commitments or one-time jobs.

More than just a place to find a volunteer job, The Volunteer Center also serves nonprofits and businesses:

Access our vast array of recruitment resources, and consulting and training services to support your work with volunteers. And by joining the Nonprofit Volunteer Leaders Council, you’ll find networking connections across sectors, discounts and management resources, among the many benefits of this professional affiliation.

Share resources with our network of business leaders, stay ahead of trends and find the help you need to make a positive impact in the community. And by joining the Bay Area Corporate Volunteer Council, you’ll have access to additional support, benefits and services to develop and maintain an outstanding employee volunteer program.

Financial Contributions
As a nonprofit organization, The Volunteer Center relies on the community’s generosity in helping us continue our work. Find out how you can leverage your money by making a financial contribution or find out how you can support our programs!

COVID-19 Volunteer Opportunties
There are limited opportunities to volunteer during this national emergency. However, HandsOn Bay Area has a few ways to get involved now.
